The Vegas Golden Knights will hit the ice today for their first scrimmage. The new Las Vegas hockey team has been practicing for the scrimmage during two days of the team's inaugural development camp.

The camp continues through Saturday, and while Wil Nichol's job as Director of Player Development is to evaluate the players, he can't help but reflect on how far the franchise has come since General Manager George McPhee asked him to come on board.

"He called me back in August and I don't think we had pucks!” Said Nichol. “When you look at where we started and what we've accomplished as a staff, you can't help but just be so excited, so proud. And we're so happy for Las Vegas, because you guys deserve this, you deserve to have a top end organization like the Knights."
