Basic High School Scholar Athletes 2017
Hannah Barr has a weighted GPA of 3.83. She has lettered in bowling and softball and is Basic Academy's student body president. According to her coach and teachers - Hannah is a bright and shining light! She is always smiling, and absolutely willing to help others even before the drop of a hat. I'm told by some of her teammates - that she is the "hype-man" on the softball team, and "gets everyone pumped!!" Hannah brings people together no matter her responsibility or position. She is comfortable up front or behing the scenes; either way, she is a leader! Hannah is a one of a kind athlete. She puts her team before herself and you will rarely find her not working hard at becoming a better player. She is looked to as a leader and she represents not only herself and her family, but also represents the best of Basic by being a true part of the community and holding herself and her teammates to a higher standard.
Garrison Stinnett has a weighted GPA of 3.93. He participates in tennis, bowling, and baseball. He is a big part of the Basic Academy community - he is also a part of DECA, student council and other clubs. Garrison is the real deal. He is trustworthy, positive, super intelligent, fun, and a stellar athlete. Garrison has a great sense of humor, and is extremely well liked both by his teachers and his peers. I'm told that in tennis, he is "super fast", and "willing to help others out by sharing his techniques"...this does not surprise me as he is a great young man with a humble sense of self. Garrison is a hard working and highly competitive athlete who demonstrates excellent leadership and sportsmanship qualities. He has earned a varsity letter each of his first 3 seasons in tennis and advanced to the regional quarterfinals last season. He is an excellent team leader who is willing to do whatever is asked of him to help the team succeed and maintains a positive and productive attitude.
