We have dry weather with near-normal temperatures in the forecast today. Daytime highs will climb through Thursday, followed by strong winds and a 20 degrees temperature drop into the weekend...
TODAY: On Monday expect sunny skies & warmer weather compared to Sunday. High temperatures will reach around 92 degrees in Las Vegas, up to 87 degrees in Summerlin & around 93 degrees in Henderson.
Winds should remain light up to 10 mph.
Air quality is ranked 'good' this morning but pollen levels remain 'high' for weed pollen and 'moderate' for grass pollen. The most common pollens are sage, wormwood & ragweed at the moment.
TONIGHT: We'll see mostly clear skies this evening with valley low temperatures falling to the mid and upper 60s. The cooler valley temps will be found on the edges of town.
YOUR 7 DAY: Temperatures will keep rising through most of the work week with dry southwesterly flow across the region. Temperatures will max out in the mid 90s mid-week, followed by a storm.
THE NEXT WEATHERMAKER: A potent area of low pressure will drop south by the end of the week from the Pacific Northwest, bringing strong winds & a sharp temperature drop. The storm is currently located in the southern Gulf of Alaska. Breezes will start picking up on Thursday (south/southwest 10-15 mph with wind gusts around 25-30 mph) with winds lingering through Friday.
Stronger winds appear to arrive on Saturday with wind gusts 30-40 mph. Temperatures will also drop like a rock into the weekend. Valley highs will go from 95 degrees on Thursday to top temperatures in the mid 70s by Sunday, a 20 degree drop! This storm will mainly be a wind event for our area but showers will fall across northern & central Nevada this weekend. There's also snow in the forecast for the Sierra & areas in Northern Nevada above 9,000 ft.
Beyond the 7-day temperatures look slow to rebound. Sunny skies will be in the forecast with valley highs in the mid to upper 70s through next Tuesday & back to the low 80s NEXT Wednesday.
